Peace With Justice Coordinators 2017 Gathering
Join Peace with Justice Coordinators from conferences across The United Methodist Church for a time of fellowship, education and training.
We will be gathering prior to Ecumenical Advocacy Days (EAD), which is an annual gathering of Christians in Washington, D.C. This year, participants will be addressing racism, materialism, and militarism through workshops and then a lobby day on Capitol Hill. Ecumenical Advocacy Days begins on Friday, April 21 and runs through Monday, April 24th. You can register for EAD here.
You are welcome to come to D.C. for the Peace With Justice Coordinators gathering only, just be sure to mark that in the registration.
You are responsible for your transportation to and from Washington, D.C. The airport with the easiest access for this gathering is Washington-Reagan National Airport (DCA).
Participants will stay at the DoubleTree Crystal City Hotel in Arlington, Virginia. A free shuttle service is available from the airport to the hotel through DoubleTree.
Church and Society will pay for your hotel room (shared room) and meals for the PWJ gathering. If you choose to also attend EAD, Church and Society will pay for your hotel room only. You will be responsible for the EAD registration and meals during EAD (some meals are provided with your registration fee).
If you do not wish to share a room, you will be invoiced for $65 per night. You have the ability to request a roommate in the registration if you choose to share.
The deadline for registering is Thursday, March 23, 2017.
