Pass the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act!
The United Methodist Resolution #3423 affirms the “sacredness of all persons and their right to safety, nurture and care.” We believe that violence against all individuals — particularly individuals in vulnerable situations — is wrong.
Both the Senate and House have passed different versions of reauthorization for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). I am writing to encourage your office to negotiate a final VAWA that protects all survivors of violence, including victims from the American Indian, LBGTQ and immigrant communities.
