GBCS Young Clergy Leadership Forum 2018

The General Board of Church & Society (GBCS) will host fifty (50) young clergy on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C., for a Church and Society leadership forum. Each United Methodist conference is encouraged to send two young clergy who are currently serving full time appointments in local United Methodist churches.

Guest presenters for this event will include Shane Claiborne. 

Goals for YCLF

  • Connect young clergy with the ministry of Church and Society
  • Provide a forum to share knowledge and experience
  • Create bridges for future ministry collaboration
  • Build relationships with other young clergy from across the United Methodist connection

Details

Each participant should arrive anytime on Sunday, January 28, and plan to leave after lunch on Wednesday, January 31.

Register early. Space is limited to 50 ordained clergy age 35 or younger serving full-time in local congregations.

All breakfasts, lunches, snacks and housing will be provided by the General Board of Church & Society. Two dinners will be on your own. For a private room there is an additional charge.

Registration fee is $200 for those staying at the Kellogg Center but all those who register before Christmas and get $50 off registration. Not bad!

Registration fee is $80 for anyone who commutes.

Deadline to register is Friday, January 10th.

Directions

When you arrive on Sunday, go directly to the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University, 800 Florida Ave NE, Washington, D.C. (202) 651-6000. Dinner Sunday is on your own. A shuttle to Union Station is available from the hotel and to the second floor of Union Station. Restaurants and a food court can be found there.
